Diagonal Dishcloth Pattern

This is a dishcloth pattern that looks quite similar to a traditional diagonal dishcloth pattern. However, instead of using yarn overs to increase, this pattern uses an increase that does not put holes in the edges of the dishcloth.  This pattern could be easily modified to be a blanket.

Pattern

Cast on 4 sts.

Row 1: k2, inc, knit to end of row.

Repeat row 1 until 44 sts are on the needle.

Row 2: k2, ssk, knit to end of row.

Repeat Row 2 until 4 sts remain.

Bind off.

Note: Increases are worked by knitting into the front and the back of the next stitch.

"Exquisite" Afghan

My current project is an afghan from a pattern titled "Exquisite".  This project is available on Ravelry here.  This is a Carole Prior design.  This is my first major project involving cables.  As of this writing the project stands at 65% completion.  I have gone through nearly 4 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver Fleck and 2 skeins of grey Red Hear Super saver.  Several skeins of bamboo yarn that I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby will also be used up in this afghan.  Better pictures will be coming soon.

Chevron Panel

The following pattern was adapted from the Knitting Handbook edited by Viv Foster.  I modified a simple chevron pattern to form the following panel pattern.  This pattern is intended to be part of an afghan.  Once I decide on the other panels and calculate the pattern gauge, this pattern will be integrated into the full afghan pattern.  The next step is to test the pattern to confirm that it is correct.  I had to improvise rows 17-33 due to the fact that the chevrons are reversed in that section.

Cables

Cable a (Ca): sl 2 sts onto first cable needle and hold at front, sl 1 st onto second cable needle and hold at back, k2, k1 from second cable needle, k2 from first cable needle.

Cable b (Cb): sl 1 st onto cable needle and hold at back, k2, then k1 from cable.

Cable c (Cc): sl 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at front, k1, k2 from cable needle.

Row 6: P5, Cb, k3, Cc, p5.

Row 7: K5, p9, k5.

Row 8: P4, Cb, k2, yo, skp,k1, Cc, p4.

Row 9: K4, p11, k4.

Row 10: P3, Cb, k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skp, k1,Cc, p3.

Row 11: K3, p13, k3

Row 12: P2, Cb, k1, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, skp, k1, Cc, p2.

Row 13: K2, p15, k2
